Norwegian scabies in a patient with epidermolysis bullosa simplex and lupus nephritis

Abstract: A 39-year-old woman suffered from erythema, crusted lesions and itching all over the body for half year and albuminuria for 3 weeks. She has a history of repeated erosion on back and limbs for 28 years. Skin biopsy demonstrated hyperkeratosis, local parakeratosis, acanthosis and subcorneal burrows containing?mites. The mites were found under microscope.. Electron microscopy showed epidermal cell connecting device significantly reduced or absent, with obvious gap between cells and local blister formation. Hemoglobin 74 g/L, urine protein+++, positivity for ANA, anticardiolipin antibody IgG 31.9U. The diagnosis of norwegian scabies with epidermolysis bullosa simplex and lupus nephritis was made.
