Etiology and treatments of granuloma annulare

Abstract: Granuloma annulare (GA) is a chronic benign self-limiting cutaneous disorder manifesting as a single or multiple small nodular or papular on the extremities. The etiology of GA may be association with autoimmunity, inheritance, disease associations or infection. Several treatments have been proposed, including topical glucocorticoids and calcineurin inhibitors, phototherapy, dapsone, anti-malarial agents, retinoids and surgical removal and so on. This review summarizes the update of etiology, pathogenesis and treatments of GA.
