Abstract: Objective: To analyze the application of modified rhomboid flap in repairing defect of basal cell carcinoma. Methods: Patients with facial basal cell carcinoma who were treated in our hospital were selected from Feb. 2012 to May. 2016, and they were treated with routine tumor resection and modified rhomboid flap repair surgery. The postoperative adverse reactions and scar recovery of the patients were assessed. Results: A total of 41 patients were collected. The transplanted tisssues in all patients were survived, with one-stage coalescenced, wound flat, no subcutaneous hematoma or infection. There was no apparent displacement or deformity in surrounding organs. The eyes were slightly deformed in two patients. The patient was recovered well after one year, the deformation gradually improved, the eyes were basically symmetrical. None of the patients had recurrence or neck metastasis. The results of postoperative scar assessment showed that the scar color score was (0.61±0.08), the flatness score was (0.40±0.06), the elasticity score was (0.72±0.15), and the width score was (0.86±0.10). Conclusion: The modified rhomboid flap in repairing defect of facial basal cell carcinoma is effective.
