Large cell acanthoma: a case report

Abstract: A 62-year-old male presented with plaque on right upper limb with mild pruritus for more than half a year. Histopathological examination revealed excessive keratinization in the form of basket, the keratinaceous transparent granules of granular layer cells increase, and the cell volume of each layer increases. Slight atypia can be seen, the basal layer pigment increases, the dermal process is prolonged, and part of the epidermis is bud like, with clear boundary with the normal epidermis on both sides. The superficial layer of dermis is infiltrated by focal mononuclear cells. The patient was diagnosed with large cell acanthoma and received surgical excision.
