Mixed tumor of the skin: 12 cases report

Abstract: The data of 12 patients with mixed tumor of the skin (MTS) were analyzed retrospectively. Of 12 patients, 7 were males and 5 were females with the age from 22 to 77 years. All the lesions were found on the face, and the most common site was upper lip. Of 12 patients, the tumor was single light red or skin colour, firm without symptoms in 11 patients and the lesion ruptured due to external factors in one. Histopathological examination showed that the lesions differentiated into apocrine sweat gland in 9 cases and into eccrine gland in 3. Of 12 patients, primary clinical diagnosis of MTS in 1, dermal fibroma in 3, epidermoid cyst in 3, calcified epithelioma in 1, adnexal tumor in 1, cutaneous horn in 1 and undetermined diagnosis in 2 cases. All lesions were resected with no recurrence after 2 months to 6 years follow-up.
