Abstract: A 51-year-old female presented with erythema and blisters on the left lower extremity with paroxysmal pain for more than 20 days and the lesions spread all over the body with fever for 1 week. Dermatological examination showed millet to soybean sized dark purple-red spotted rash, papule and papulovesicle all over the whole body, some lesions fusing into pieces with brown scabs. Cell smear showed multinucleated giant cells and intranuclear inclusions. The diagnosis of disseminated herpes zoster was made. The patient was treated with methylprednisolone and acyclovir and got improvement.
