Mycobacterium marinum infection: two cases report and literature review

Abstract: Two cases of mycobacterium marinum infection were reported and related literature were reviewed. The first case was a 25-year-old male presented with swelling and ulceration on the right thumb with pain for 1 month. The second case was a 54-year-old female presented with painful erythema and nodules on the left thumb, back of hand and wrist for 2 months. Both patients had a history of fish stab injury, and conventional anti-infective treatment was ineffective They were finally diagnosed with mycobacterium marinum infection and recovered after 3 months of anti-mycobacterial treatment.
