Clinicopathological analysis of 15 cases with glomus tumor

Abstract: The data of 15 cases with glomus tumor were analyzed retrospectively. The lesions of all the patients were bluish subcutaneous nodule. There were 5 cases under the nail, 2 cases on finger pulp, 3 cases on upper limb, 2 cases on inner thigh, 1 case on shoulder, 1 case on waist and 1 case on lateral knee. All patients had different degrees of pain, among which 5 cases with subungual lesions were more sensitive to cold stimulation. The histological examination showed four different subtypes including typical type in 2 cases, mucous type in 4 cases, glomangioma in 8 cases and glomangiomyoma in 1 case. Immunohistochemistry showed that SMA and CD34 were positive in all cases. All patients were treated by operation and were followed up for 3 months. No recurrence was found.
