Clinical analysis of one case with Chaetomium globosum cutaneous infection

Abstract: A 55-year-old man presented with systemic red nodules and intense itching for 6 months. Microscopic examination and fungal culture of the lesions were positive. DNA extracted from the culture was sequenced and identified as Chaetomium globosum. The patient was treated with oral itraconazole, Jinjunling and Huangqi granules and topical bifonazole cream. The patient was improved after two months of treatment. This case is the fourth chaetomycosis caused by Chaetomium globosum reported in China.
