Clinicopathologic analysis of 10 cases with inverted follicular keratosis

Abstract: The data of 10 patients, including 6 males and 4 females, with inverted follicular keratosis (IFK) were analyzed retrospectively. Results showed the patients ranged from 31 to 76 years with average age of 48.6 years. Nine patients had no symptoms. The lesions mainly on the face in 6 patients. Skin lesions presented as a solitary papule in 5 patients or nodule in 5 patients, which were difficult to differentiate from other keratinizing lesions and malignant tumors clinically. Histological examination showed different degrees of hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis of epidermis,  deep growth into the dermis and squamous eddies.
