Efficacy of platelet-rich plasma for the treatment of refractory wound caused by the snake bite

Abstract: Objective: To assess the clinical effect of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for the treatment of refractory wound caused by the snake bite. Methods: The data of 7 patients with refractory wound caused by the snake bite treated with platele-rich plasma (PRP) were analyzed retrospectively. Results: After 3-6 treatments, the average wound healing rate of 7 patients reached 96.8%, and the mean wound area reduced from (14.44±14.697) cm2 to (1.245 ±3.174) cm2. Conclusions: The efficacy of PRP for the treatment of refractory wound caused by the snake bite is remarkable.
