Nodular pemphigoid and literature review: a case report

Abstract: An 83-year-old female presented with papules and nodules all over the body with itching for 2 years. Physical examination showed dark red papules, nodules and plaques on the trunk and limbs and no visible blister was seen. Pathological examination showed hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis in the epidermis, parakeratosis, perivascular infiltrate of lymphocytes and eosinophils in the dermis. Both direct and indirect immunofluorescence were negative. IIF showed smooth linear band of immunoreactant deposition of IgG on the epidermal side. The titre of anti-BP230 IgG was 147.9 U/mL, the titre of anti-BP180 IgG was above 200 U/mL. The diagnosis of pemphigoid nodularis was made. The patient was treated with prednisone, doxycycline hydrochloride and nicotinamide and is under follow-up.
