Abstract: Bacillus cereus can cause food poisoning and local infection. For people with normal immunity, most of them are localized and self-limited infections. However, for patients with low immune function, critical patients, patients with invasive procedures and intravenous drug users, infection with Bacillus cereus can rapidly develop to fatal sepsis. There is no case report of Bacillus cereus pyemia and sepsis secondary to insect bite at home and abroad. This paper reported a case of Bacillus cereus bacteremia after insect bite in a patient with diabetes, to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and further research.

Key words: Bacillus cereus, insect bite dermatitis, sepsis
