Abstract: Objective: To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of glyclic acid peeling combined with adapalene gel in the treatment of keratosis pilaris. Methods: Sixty patients with keratosis pilaris were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group. Twenty nine patients in the treatment group were treated with glyclic acid peeling, once every two weeks, for 4 times and topical adapalene gel, every night for 8 weeks. Thirty one patients in the control group were treated with topical adapalene gel alone. The patients were followed up for 12 weeks after treatment. Results: The effective rate in the treatment group was 70.37%, which was higher than that in the control group (42.86%), with a significant difference (P<0.05). Four patients in the treatment group and three patients in the control group developed erythema and desquamation with burning sensation during the course of treatment. The recurrent rate in the treatment group was 14.81%, which was lower than that in the control group (39.29%), with a significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: Glyclic acid peeling combined with adapalene gel is more effective in the treatment of keratosis pilaris with a lower recurrent rate.
