The regulative effect of Kang Bai Ling cream on TYR and MITF in melanogenesis

Abstract: Objective: To determine the regulative effect of Kang Bai Ling (KBL) creams on TYR and MITF in melanogenesis. Method: The cultured B-16 murine melanoma cells were divided into blank group and KBL groups with different concentration (5 mg/mL, 10mg/mL and 15mg/mL). The amount of melanin was detected by NaOH dissolved method. The expression of TYR and MITF mRNA and protein was detected by real time-PCR and Western blot respectively. Result: The amount of melanin, the expressions of TYR and MITF mRNA and protein in KBL groups were higher than those in blank group. The effects were significant in a concentration dependent manner. Conclusions: KBL can promote melanogenesis through up-regulating the expression of MITF genes and activating TYR.
