Retrospective analysis of 211 patients with basal cell carcinoma

Abstract: The data of 211 patients with basal cell carcinoma diagnosed in our hospital from January 2013 to December 2017 was retrospectively analyzed, including the clinical manifestations and misdiagnosis. Of 211 patients, 80 were male and 131 were female. One hundred and seventy-eight patients ( 84.4%) aged from 50 to 80 years old. The lesions were on the head and face in 159 patients (75.4%). The initial clinical diagnosis and pathological diagnosis were agreed with in 141 case (66.8%). 15 patients (7.1% ) were misdiagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma, 12 (5.6 %) as seborrheic keratosis, 9 (4.3%) as malignant melanoma, 7 (3.3%) as color sputum, 5 (2.4%) as Bowen disease and 4 (1.9%) as pyogenic granuloma.
