Superficial radiotherapy for Hailey-Hailey disease

Abstract: Objective: To assess the efficacy of superficial radiotherapy in the treatment of five patients with Hailey-Hailey disease (HHD). Methods:The lesions in axilla and groin of the patients were treated with superficial radiotherapy, once a week for 3-4 times, with the total cumulative dose of 9-12Gy. Results: After follow-up 4-35 months, the lesions were completely cured in three cases and were improved in other two cases. The main adverse reaction was hyperpigmentation. Conclusion: Superficial radiotherapy is safe and effective in the treatment of the patients with HHD.
