Birds nest hair:a case report

Abstract: Birds nest hair is irreversible matting of hair and is usually associated with use of ionic/herbal soaps, shampoos, parasitic infestations or psychiatric alterations.We reported one case. A 53-year-old female presented with a matting of hair for 4 weeks. Dermatology examination showed matting hair of 0.27 meter long, 0.15 meter wide. The diagnosis of birds nest hair was made.Cutting off the affected hairs is the choice to majority of patients.
