Necrobiosis lipoidica: two-case report and literatures review

Abstract: Two patients with necrobiosis lipoidica (NL) were reported and related literatures were reviewed in this paper. Patient one was a 12-years-old girl, who presented with brown yellow atrophic plaques on lower extremities for 2 years and ulcerated for 2 months. The biopsy features suggested NL. The patient was accompanied with type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia and severe obesity. The lesions subsided gradually after treated with insulin, dipyridamole tablets, topical tacrolimus ointment and mucopolysaccharide polysulfonate cream. Patient two was a 50-years-old female, who presented with, erythema on left shin for more than 4 years, aggravated for 2 years. This patient was also accompanied with type 2 diabetes and the biopsy features were also in accordance with NL. The lesions subsided gradually after treated with tripterygium and mucopolysaccharide polysulfonate cream.
