Investigation on management of high-risk enterprises of occupational dermatosis in Shanghai

Abstract: Objective: By conducting a survey of high-risk enterprises for occupational skin diseases, to understand the current situation and problems in occupational skin disease management. Methods: Based on literature search and Delphi expert consultation, 10 high-risk industries for occupational skin diseases were identified, a questionnaire survey on management personnel of high-risk enterprises through sampling were conduct and the data were statistical analyzed. Results: A total of 502 managers from 419 companies were surveyed, of which 136 (32.5%) high-risk enterprises that did not have a occupational health management department. On average, each enterprise was equipped with 0.6 full-time occupational health management personnel. The total number of occupational disease prevention and control training accounted for 81.0% of the total number of exposed workers, accounting for 50.6% of the production line workers. 269 (53.6%) managers did not know about occupational dermatosis. 345 workers (68.7%) did not know the risk of occupational skin diseases in related positions in their enterprises. Conclusions: Some enterprises have problems such as low emphasis on the prevention and management of occupational skin diseases, insufficient allocation of management personnel, inadequate employee training, and lack of knowledge and awareness among management personnel.
