Abstract: Objective: To determine the effect of the diversified health education based on ARNE in children with atopic dermatitis and their parents. Methods: Totally 120 cases with pediatric atopic dermatitis were randomized into an observation group(n=60) and a control group(n=60).The control group received routine health education while the observation group received health education based on ARNE project. After 30 days of intervention, the scoring atopic dermatitis index (SCORAD), the dermatitis family impact questionnaire (DFI), infant dermatitis quality of life (IDQOL) and the self-designed knowledge scale were used to assess the patients and their parents. Results: There were 59 valid cases in the observation group and 57 in the control group. After intervention, the score of SCORAD, IDQOL and DFI in the intervention group were 21.57±2.42,8.20±2.54,6.67±1.52, which were lower than those in the control group (26.46±3.84,13.79±1.73,10.28±2.21), with significant differences (P<0.05). The score of knowledge scale in the intervention group was 20.75±1.67, which was higher than that of control group (16.28±2.39), with a significant difference (P=0.029). Conclusion: The diversified health education based on ARNE could improve both children's and their parents' quality of life.
