Abstract: Objective: To compare the sensitivity between fluorescence staining and KOH wet method in the diagnosis of superficial fungal infection. Methods: Samples obtained from 466 patients with typical superficial fungal infection were stainned with fluorescence staining and KOH wet method, and the results were compared. Results: Positivity rates of fluorescence staining and KOH wet method were 97.64% and 91.42%, respectively, with a significant difference of P<0.05. Conclusion: Fluorescence staining is more sensitive than KOH wet method in the diagnosis of superficial fungal infection.
