Clinical analysis of 10 cases with prurigo pigmentosa

Abstract: The clinical data of 10 patients (1male and 9 females) with prurigo pigmentosa (PP) from August 2016 to August 2018 in our outpatient department was analyzed retrospectively. The average age at onset was 26.42 years old. Skin lesions were characterized by urticarial papules, plaques in one early patient, red papules with reticular distribution in 5 progressive patients, papules and reticulate macula in 2 recovered patients, reticulate hyperpigmentation in 2 advanced patients. Of 10 patients, 5 had a dietary changes history, 1 patient accompanied with type 1 diabetes mellitus. The lesion aggravated after rubbing by clothes in 1 patient and the lesion aggravated before menstruation in 1 patient. The urinary ketone bodies was detected in 6 patients and positive in 3 patients. All the patients were treated with minocycline, 100 mg a day for 7 to 15 days. The lesions subsided in 8 patients.
