Update on skin photoaging and antioxidants

Abstract: Skin photoaging refers to skin aging caused by ultraviolet (UV) radiation. UV can induce skin photoaging by producing  reactive oxygen species, lipid peroxide malondialdehyde and metalloproteinases. Various natural or synthetic antioxidants used for photoaging can effectively prevent and alleviate skin light damage. The update of the skin pthotoaging mechanisms and antioxidants in the treatment of pthotoaging are reviewed in this paper.
