Analysis of patch test on 82 cases of vulvar lichen simplex chronicus

Abstract: Objective: To detect the contact allergens in patients with vulvar lichen simplex chronicus (VLSC). Methods: The patients with VLSC visited in our clinic from March 2017 to March 2018 were  performed  patch testing including 60 allergens. Results: A total of 82 patients with VLSC were enrolled into the study, 53 (64.73%) had at least one positive patch test. The first three positive allergens were metals (32 cases), preservative(18 cases), and perfume(16 cases). The most frequent allergen was nickel sulphate (24 cases), followed by cobalt chloride (15 cases), hydroperoxides of linalool (10 cases) and methylisothiazolinone (6 cases). Conclusion: The most common positive allergens of VLSC were metals,preservative and perfume.
