Multiple organ failure caused by tick bite: a case report

Abstract: A 58-year-old male patient presented with erythema, papules, swelling with itching on his chest after tick bite 5 days ago. The lesions aggravated and the patient felt short of breath, high fever, chills, nausea, vomiting and paroxysmal syncope for 2 days. The indexes of d-dimer, serum creatinine, phosphocreatine kinase were obviously abnormal, and the nucleic acid test of bunya virus was negative. The diagnosis of tick bite and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome was made. The patient was improved and discharged after treated with glucocorticoid and wound treatment for more than 20 days.
