Acute telogen effluvium: a case report

Abstract:

A 26-year-old female presented with diffuse hair shedding with trichodynia for 6 months due to work pressure. The hair-pulling test was positive. Dermoscopic examination showed many new vellus hairs, and the proximal part of the shed hair shaft was hypopigmentation. The diagnosis of acute telogen effluvium was made. The hair lose basically recovered after support treatment and relieving anxiety.
