Abstract: Uremic tumoral calcinosis is a rare soft tissue calcification disease, that often occurs in the soft tissues around large joints. This paper reports a case of this disease. A 25-year-old man presented with multiple enlarging, painless masses on the bilateral scapula, elbow joints, and shoulder joints for 2 years. He had a history of end-stage renal disease for 10 years. Laboratory tests revealed the elevated level of serum creatinine(1098 μmol/L), serum phosphate(3.38 mmol/L) and calcium-phosphorus product (6.83 mmol2/L2). MRI of the right elbow mass revealed calcinosis with heterogeneous signal intensity. The patient subsequently underwent surgical resection of the mass. The biopsy features of dense hyaline stroma with multiple cysts containing necrotic and calcified debris were accordance with tumoral calcinosis. The patient was treated with dietary phosphate restriction and phosphate binders. Three months after the resection, the lesion recurred at the original site but the growth rate was slower than before.
