Abstract: Objective: To analyze the stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the characteristic pathological types of nephropathy in patients with vulgar psoriasis complicated with CKD, and to evaluate their associations with the duration of psoriasis, the stages of skin lesions, and the severity of the disease. Methods: Patients with CKD whose discharge diagnoses included “psoriasis” and related diagnostic terms and who were admitted to the nephrology wards of our hospital from January 2000 to December 2024 were recruited. The clinical data of the recruited patients were retrospectively analyzed according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: A total of 351 patients with vulgar psoriasis complicated by CKD were included, consisting of 292 males and 59 females, with a median age of 46 years. In 143 cases (89.9%), psoriasis skin lesions occurred before the onset of CKD, and the average duration of psoriasis was 13.17 years. The proportion of IgA nephropathy in CKD patients with psoriasis was significantly higher than that in patients without psoriasis, with a significant difference (Ps<0.05). The duration of psoriasis, the stages of skin lesions, and the severity of the disease were associated with CKD stages, and the differences were statistically significant (Ps<0.05). Conclusion: Vulgar psoriasis complicated with CKD is more common in middle-aged men, and the main pathological type is IgA nephropathy. The longer the course of psoriasis, the more severe the skin lesions or the more active the disease progression, the more severe the CKD stage.
