Analysis of allergen testing in 1103 patients with allergic dermatosis in Shiyan

Abstract: Objective: To determine the common allergen in the patients with allergic dermatosis in Shiyan, Hubei province. Methods: The serum levels of allergen in 1103 patients were detected by western blot method. Results: The total positivity rate in the patients was 75.07%. The most common inhalation allergen was cockroach, according for 21.94%, followed by artemisia argyi (19.49%) and dust mites (19.13%). The most common food allergen was freshwater fish (13.42%), followed by peanuts (11.79) and marine fish (11.51%). The positivity rate of allergen in summer and autumn was higher than that in spring and winter. The positivity rate of allergen was unrelated to age and gender. Conclusion: The common inhalation allergen and food allergen were cockroach and freshwater fish respectively.
