Abstract: Objective: To determine the relationship among vitamin D level, and C3, C4 and CRP concentrations and the disease severity of chronic spontaneous urticaria. Methods: Concentrations of CRP, C3, C4 and 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH) D] were detected in 55 patients and 30 healthy controls. The disease severity score (UAS7) was assessed clinically. Results: The level of serum 25(OH) D in CSU patients was significantly lower than that in controls and the concentrations of CRP, C3 and C4 were significantly higher than those in controls. There was a negative correlation between the level of 25(OH) D and UAS7 score in the patients and there was no correlation between the levels of 25(OH) D, and the concentration of CRP, C3 and C4. Conclusion: The serum level of 25(OH) D is associated with the severity of CSU.
