Abstract: Objective: To systematically evaluate the association between Interleukin-17 (IL-17) and chronic urticaria. Methods: The case-control studies on IL-17 and chronic urticaria were searched in CNKI, Wanfang Database, CQVIP, Sinomed Database, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science from inception to December 31, 2019. Two reviewers screened literature, extracted data, and assessed risk bias of included researches. Meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.3 software. Results: A total of 11 studies were included, including 617 patients with chronic urticaria and 522 controls. The results of meta-analysis showed that IL-17 level in the chronic urticaria group was significantly higher than that in the control group, with a significant difference [SMD=1.52, 95%CI (1.13,1.91), Z=7.64, P<0.00001]. Conclusion: The level of IL-17 is elevated in the patients with chronic urticaria, and IL-17 may be associated with chronic urticaria.
