Analysis of endoscopical profiles in the patients with Henoch-Schonlein purpura

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the endoscopical features of patients with Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP). Methods: Fifty-two patients with abdominal type of Henoch-Schonlein purpura were examined with endoscopy. Results: Varying degrees of point/sheet congestion, edema, erosion, bleeding and even sheet ulcer of gastrointestinal mucosa were observed under endoscopy. The sites of lesions including descending duodenum, gastric and duodenal bulb. Conclusion: Endoscopy examination in, purpura is necessary for the correct and differential diagnosis of  abdominal type Henoch-Schonlein purpura.
