Abstract: Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of acrivastine capsules combined with yupingfeng grains in the treatment of chronic urticaria. Methods: Sixty-three patients were randomly divided into the treatment group (34 patients) and the control group (29 patients). All the patients were treated with oral acrivastine capsules and the patients in the control group were treated with additional yupingfeng grains. Results: After 4 weeks treatment, the total score of the signs and symptoms in the treatment group was 2.2±1.6, which was lower than that in the control group (3.9±2.1), with a significant difference (P<0.05). The effective rate in the treatment group was 70.58%, which was higher than that in the control group (48.27%), with a significant difference (P<0.05). There was no obvious adverse reactions in both groups of the patients. Conclusion: Acrivastine capsules combined with yupingfeng grains is more effective than acrivastine capsules alone in the treatment of chronic urticaria.
