Abstract: Rosacea is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease. Neuroimmune imbalance is an important pathological basis underlying the pathogenesis of rosacea. Triggers such as heat and spicy food can activate cutaneous sensory neurons and release neuropeptides including calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). Preliminary clinical studies of CGRP monoclonal antibodies have shown that these agents have shown preliminary efficacy in improving refractory erythema and flushing in patients with rosacea, and may provide dual therapeutic benefits for patients with comorbid migraine. We review the role of CGRP in the pathogenesis of rosacea and the clinical research progress of CGRP monoclonal antibodies, aiming to provide a reference for the targeted treatment of rosacea.
