Abstract: A scabies outbreak occurred in our hospital between June and September 2023, following which a comprehensive epidemiological investigation and dynamic follow-up were promptly implemented. The survey covered a total of 47 individuals, including medical staff, inpatients, and their family members. Among them, 9 developed skin rashes, consisting of 4 confirmed cases and 5 suspected cases. Traceability investigation confirmed that the infection source was a visitor of Bed A, with transmission occurring via direct contact. In response to the incident, a special investigation team was immediately established and the emergency response plan for infection outbreaks was activated. A series of interventions, including standard precautions and standardized treatment, were adopted, resulting in no additional new cases and effective containment of the scabies outbreak. Given the high contagiousness of scabies, strict adherence to the principles of early identification, early intervention, and early treatment in clinical practice is essential for the effective prevention and control of nosocomial scabies transmission.
