Merkel cell carcinoma: a case report

Abstract: A 77-year-old female presented with red mass on the left cheek for three months. Histopathology revealed the tumor was located in the dermis, involving the subcutaneous fat layer. The dense tumor cells with deep-dyed big nucleolus, atypia and mitotic figures were arranged in nests. Tumor cells were seen at the incision margin. The diagnosis of Merkel-cell carcinoma was made.
