Analysis of clinical features in 56 patients with keratoacanthoma

Abstract: The data of the patients with keratoacanthoma from January 2015 to January 2020 in our hospital were analyzed. Fifty six patients with keratoacanthoma were collected including 34 males and 22 females with an average age of 60.73±14.29 years. There were 33 lesions on the face (58.9%), 11 on the limbs (19.6%),  4 on fingers (7.1%), 3 on scalp (5.4%), 2 on buttocks (3.6%), 1 on neck (1.8%), 1 on waist (1.8%) and 1 on mons pubis (1.8%). The lesions were solitary in 54 patients and diffuse in 2 patients. The dome shaped and slightly hard protuberant tumors of different sizes presented in 49 cases (87.5%). Of 56 patients, 7 were accompanied with cancer, 1 was positive for HPV, and 1 had family history. All patients had received surgery treatment and 20 were followed up successfully. The lesions reappeared in 3 cases including 1 death.
