Dapsone in the treatment of erythema elevatum diutinum: a case report

Abstract: A 78-year-old male presented with multiple purplish red nodules and plaques on the trunk and limbs with pain for 3 years. Histopathological examination showed epidermal edema and diffuse infiltration of neutrophilic in the superficial and mid-dermis, unclear vessel wall and fibrous proliferation. The diagnosis of erythema elevatum diutinum was made. The patient was treated with oral dapsone 100 mg once a day, topical halometasone cream and topical fusidic acid cream. The lesions were significantly improved after four-month follow-up.
