Update of generalized pustular psoriasis of pregnancy

Abstract: Generalized pustular psoriasis of pregnancy (GPPP) is a type of rare and severe pustular psoriasis. It is clinically characterized by acute eruption of generalized erythema with superficial sterile pustules, which may rapidly coalesce to form lakes of pus. The patient always accompanied by severe systemic symptoms,such as fever and chills, which can even be life-threatening to mater and fetus. The treatment of GPPP is still challenging, although the mortality has been decreased with the therapy of steroids,cyclosporin,TNF-α antagonists. This article aims to review the update of the etiology, treatment and other aspects of GPPP.
