Abstract:

Objective: To detect the Th22 and its associated cytokines in the patients with alopecia areata. Methods: The levels of Th22 and associated cytokines (IL-22 and IL-17) in 38 patients with alopecia areata and 38 healthy controls were detected by flow cytometry and ELISA. Results: The expression levels of Th22, Th17, IL-17+ IL-22+, CD4+, IFN-gamma+ IL-22+ CD4+ T, IL-22 and IL-17 in the parents were higher than those in controls (P<0.05) and all the cytokines mentioned above in the patients with severe alopecia areata were higher than those in the patients with mild alopecia areata (P<0.05). Conclusion: The levels of Th22 and cytokines in the patients with alopecia areata are increased.
