Abstract:

Objective: To understand the epidemic status of azithromycin resistant gene 23SrRNA of treponema pallidum in Guangxi. Methods: The treponema pallidum DNA in interstitial fluids from 300 patients with early syphilis in different regions of Guangxi STD clinic were detected by PCR firstly, and then, the Mbo II enzyme 23SrRNA gene in positive samples were detected by nested PCR. Results: The treponema pallidum DNA in 215 patients were detected. Of these 190 strains were effective strains in resistance tests. Out of 190 strains, 173 strains were positive in Mbo II enzyme 23SrRNA gene mutation and the resistance rate of azithromycin was 91.1%.
