Abstract: Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of long-pulse 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for the treatment of onychomycosis. Methods: Sixty patients were treated with long-pulse Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser, once a weeks. Results: The effective rate was 60% after six months follow-up. The effective rates of the patients treated with laser for 4 times and 8 times were 34.8% and 78.1% respectively, with a significant difference (P<0.01). Conclusion: The long-pulse Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser is effective in the treatment of onychomycosis and the efficacy is associated with the treatment times.
