Abstract: Lichen sclerosus is a chronic inflammatory skin disease of unknown etiology, predominantly affecting the genital area. It often leads to symptoms such as pruritus, pain, dysuria, and dyspareunia, significantly impairing patients' quality of life and is associated with an increased risk of squamous cell carcinoma. Although conventional treatments can alleviate symptoms, their long-term efficacy is often unsatisfactory, and they face challenges such as high recurrence rates and potential disease progression. New therapies, including photodynamic therapy, local injection of platelet-rich plasma, biologics and small-molecule drug therapy, etc. have shown certain advancements. This paper provides a review of the progress in the treatment of lichen sclerosus.
