Abstract: Leprosy reaction is an immunoinflammatory response triggered by Mycobacterium leprae, which often leads to disability and deformity in patients. Except for conventional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs), glucocorticoid, clofazimine, and thalidomide, medications such as methotrexate, cyclophosphamide, tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) inhibitors, and apremilast are also used in the treatment for leprosy reaction. This paper reviews the types of drugs, efficacy, adverse reactions and drug resistance in the treatment for leprosy reaction.

Key words: leprosy reaction, treatment, neuritis, erythema nodosum leprosum, adverse drug reactions
