Advances in the Pathogenesis of Port Wine Stains

Abstract: Port wine stains (PWS) is a kind of vascular disease mainly affecting the skin and mucous membrane. The incidence of PWS in the newborn is about 0.3%~0.5%.The pathogenesis of PWS is unkown and may be concerned with somatic gene mutation, abnormal proportion of vessels and nerves, heredity, etc. The pathogenesis of PWS is reviewed in this paper.
