Update of pathogenesis of sensitive skin and related skin diseases

Abstract: Sensitive skin typically presents as unpleasant sensory responses to slight environmental stimuli, including flushing, itching, burning, tingling, etc. The pathogenesis of sensitive skin mainly involves the skin nervous system, skin barrier function, skin vascular system, transcriptomics, nocebo effect, and so on. Many skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, rosacea, may be accompanied by symptoms of sensitive skin, and there is often misdiagnosis and mistreatment between these diseases and sensitive skin. This article reviews the pathogenesis of sensitive skin and sensitive skin-related skin diseases.
