Abstract: Objective: To analyze the epidemic characteristics of new leprosy cases in Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province,from 2011 to 2018. Methods: Epidemiological characteristics of newly reported leprosy cases in Guangyuan City, from 2011 to 2018 were analyzed by descriptive epidemiological method. Results: A total of 55 new cases were reported, with an average annual detection rate of 0.276/10 million, which was at a historically low level. However, only 21.82% of the cases were found actively, 50.91% were delayed in diagnosis for more than two years, and 25.45% had grade II disability. Conclusion: The new case rate in Guangyuan City in recent 8 years had maintained a relatively stable low level. We should continue to strengthen active detection of patients, shorten the time of delayed diagnosis and reduce the grade II disability ratio of new patients.
