Analysis of the effect of surgery on disability in leprosy in Yunnan Province

Abstract: The effect of surgery on disability in 176 leprosy patients with 338 operations in the past 10 years was analyzed. The excellent and good rate of surgeries was 73.08% and satisfaction rate of the cases for surgery was 96.97%. Surgery for lagophthalmus facial paralysis, ectropion, pedal deformity, amputation, claw hand was performed in 121, 24, 101, 19, 38 and 4 patients, with the excellent and good rates of 65.29%, 83.34%, 67.32%, 94.74%, 97.34%, 75.00%, respectively.
