Skin tuberculosis: a case report

Abstract: A 64-year-old female presented with gradually enlarged plaque and nodule on the neck for 8 years. The patient was diagnosed with breast cancer 8 years ago and treated with excision. The patient had been diagnosed with folliculitis, sporotrichosis and skin metastases from breast cancer and had no response to the treatment. Histopathological examinaiton showed that there were tuberculous granuloma in dermis, caseous necrosis in the center of the nodule, positive acid-fast stain, negative PAS staining and fungal culture. Purified protein derivative (PPD) test was positive (+++). After anti-tuberculosis treatment, the rash regressed obviously.
